Donald Trump knows that his little Devin Nunes memo didn’t do a damn thing to save him from his Russia investigation, and now he’s having a meltdown as the walls cave in on him. Last night, Trump broke down in a fit of self-pity as he whined about his “great job numbers” being overshadowed by his Russia scandal. In a series of tweets, Trump cried:
“Great jobs numbers and finally, after many years, rising wages- and nobody even talks about them. Only Russia, Russia, Russia, despite the fact that, after a year of looking, there is No Collusion! ‘The four page memo released Friday reports the disturbing fact about how the FBI and FISA appear to have been used to influence the 2016 election and its aftermath….The FBI failed to inform the FISA court that the Clinton campaign had funded the dossier….the FBI became…….a tool of anti-Trump political actors. This is unacceptable in a democracy and ought to alarm anyone who wants the FBI to be a nonpartisan enforcer of the law….The FBI wasn’t straight with Congress, as it hid most of these facts from investigators.’ Wall Street Journal”
We all know that when Trump has one of these fits, it’s because he’s terrified and feels he’s being backed into a corner. His mental state is deteriorating under the pressure of Special Counsel Robert Mueller closing in on him, and it’s making him even more unstable and prone to these outbursts. An observation of Trump’s behavior during his first year in the White House shows that his mood swings only become more volatile when he’s feeling nervous — so that’s exactly why this happened.
The truth is, the reason everybody continues to talk about the Russia scandal is because of Trump himself. He continues to incriminate himself with his constant erratic behavior and pathetic attempts to free himself of it, and the Nunes memo was the perfect example of how these attempts backfire on him. Instead of accepting that silence is his best bet for getting out of his Russia scandal, Trump continues to let his outbursts and attacks make him look even more guilty. Trump is, of course, too stupid to catch on.
