President Trump has a lot of time to tweet while on vacation at his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Even still, it’s not as though he has been spending that time coming up with any new talking points.
About an hour or so before he was slated to speak publicly about the opioid crisis from his golf club, Trump took to Twitter to rail against the “fake news,” refusing to even call major media organizations by their proper names as if he is some sort of schoolyard bully taunting his classmates.
E-mails show that the AmazonWashingtonPost and the FailingNewYorkTimes were reluctant to cover the Clinton/Lynch secret meeting in plane.
Yet again here, Trump is acting as though he is chief media critic of the United States and not the president. Both of the news organizations that he named did, in fact, cover the 2016 tarmac meeting between then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton.
Making a big deal out of reporters’ alleged reluctance to cover the Lynch/ Clinton meeting is a talking point which seems to have its genesis at a right wing blog called The Federalist. Again, though, all of the news organizations in question did end up covering the Clinton/ Lynch meeting extensively — so what’s the point here again?
Trump added another message slamming “fake news” on Tuesday afternoon, writing:
‘After 200 days, rarely has any Administration achieved what we have achieved..not even close! Don’t believe the Fake News Suppression Polls!’
